Getting Tested
Sometimes it is difficult to know if you have a sexually transmitted infection or not. Even if you do not show symptoms of an STI, if you are infected you can still pass it on to someone else. If you want advice or you think you may have an STI or be at risk from getting an STI, you should get tested as soon as possible.
You can request an STI test at the following places:
• GP surgery
• Family planning clinics
• GUM. clinics
• Sexual health services
• Some pharmacies
• Your local Pregnancy Advisory Service
• Local abortion clinic (females only)
• Call the Department of Health sexual health line on 0800 567 123
